Introduction to Forums

Got a beef? Struggling with a spiritual concept? Need some practical tips from others who have been where you're going? Do you have one of those nagging questions and wonder if you're the only one that doesn't get it? Need some encouragement? Taking an unpopular stand? Feeling politically incorrect? Throw your question on the table and see what other guys have to say about it. It's a wide open forum, minimally moderated by Promise Keepers staff.

Discipleship

I made that decision in 1992 at the age of 44. My wife was a believer so I had some support through her.  However I was alone or so I thought.  I had never read the bible usless you count the time I read some of Ezekiel to dtermine if he was describing a UFO.  I new somehow that the Bible was truth.  So I started with the New Testament, then went to page one.  It didn't take me long to realize I had no idea what I was reading.  I sought out the only "Christian" I knew.  He brought me into a fellowship of men from all different denominations(a prayer group . . . I didn't vocalize a prayer for over 6 months).  I read books and of course continued in THE book, asking questions of the men in the fellowship.  Eventually  I was mentored by a godly man.  I also looked for venues to  further my relationship with ChristThat is when I discovered Promise Keepers.  Men's small group ministry became the place where my relationship to men and to Jesus grew.  What do I do now that I have given my life to Christ?  READ, FELLOWSHIP WITH GODLY MEN, TALK TO GOD (PRAY) and ASK QUESTIONS.
